Corporate workshop: Format for day 1.

  • Introduce yourself.  Tell us about what you do; your roles and goals.  Let us know about anything in the workplace that you would like to improve.
  • Safety around horses
Split into two groups: 

Group 1:
  • Body language exercise:  Observe changes in each others body language and notice how it makes you feel.
  • Trust walk:  How much trust do you have in someone else taking the lead?  Do you instill trust in others as a leader?
  • Observe horse body language:  Watch, follow, feel how a horse expresses itself.  How different is it from us?
  • Lead the horse:  Does the horse trust you?  Is the horse interested in you? How do you know?
  • Sensory exercise with the horses:  Observe body language and expression to different sensory stimulus – sound, smell, colour, and touch.
Break
  • Your posture: Discover how your posture can directly affect the energy of those around you, including horses!
  • Posture awareness exercise.
  • Your emotions:  Discover how your emotional state can affect your body and those around you, including the horses!
  • Managing stress:  Simple techniques to keep yourself calm and influence calm in those around you.


Those with Hilary:

  • Horse Whispering demonstration:  Observe the level of trust between Hilary and the horse.
  • Discussion.
  • A lesson in communication through Horse Whispering:  You will take it in turns to lead a horse through a set of obstacles. Hilary will coach you through the experiences.  You will learn to read horse body language and improve awareness of your own posture and thought patterns as create a trusting bond between you and your horse.  Each person will have the chance to have two goes at this challenge.  There will be a break half way through.
  • Discussion

Lunch:  Our local pub will provide you with a buffet lunch.

Swap groups.

  • Re-group for the final challenge: The two groups will be given the same challenge.  They will be using techniques learnt throughout the day.  We will see which group can complete the challenge in the shortest amount of time.
  • Final discussion: What have you learnt?
